THESE ARE THE 4 BEST TYPES OF WOOD FOR DECKING
We want to build a deck you love spending time on. These woods are beautiful and durable, so your deck will last as long as your home. The four materials we recommend are:
1. Composite Decking. Ideal for Montana weather composite decking is virtually maintenance-free and highly durable. It resists water damage and rot and looks just like the real thing.
2. Tropical hardwoods. These include cumaru, tigerwood and ipe, to name a few. They are incredibly durable, but often more expensive than other types of wood.
3. Redwood or cedar. These woods have a deep, rich color that people love. Keep the color vibrant with regular staining.
4. Pressure-treated lumber. PT lumber is made from yellow pine and is usually the least expensive option. The wood has been pressure-treated to resist fungus and rot.
